Happy Monday y’all! I don’t teach online myself, but when I saw this I couldn’t help but empathize.
How many of you are online instructors? I would imagine online instructors are even more overwhelmed by emails than face-to-face teachers, which sounds impossible!
I was an online teacher for Oklahoma Virtual High School. I once had 1001 email on Christmas Eve. I was cooking while my daughter read and typed the e-mails. I only got through 500 that evening. I had to maintain up to 12 chats with students also. Many have end dates around Christmas and needed extensions to complete. That job only lasted 8 months… give me a classroom BACK!!!! LOL!
