Here’s a clever cartoon about the use of social networking to communicate with parents. I’ve heard a lot of fellow teachers now use things like blogs, email blasts, and even Twitter to keep in touch with parents. I personally love the idea of some of it, but I wouldn’t want to remove all face-to-face interaction with parents, because in my opinion that’s where some of the real progress can be made in forming relationships.

How many of you use social networking like blogs, Facebook, or Twitter to keep in touch with students or their parents? Do you miss more face-to-face interaction or do you prefer the convenience?

I’d love to hear your thoughts!
