Remember Life Magazine? Well, thanks to the powers of Google Search you can now search the Life photo archives from the 1750s to today. Most of these photos were not published, but are now available with a public domain copyright – which means they can be used without any concerns of plagiarism!

This resource great for students who are working on projects or presentations, especially for historical research. For example, students could search the archives for New York City to see images from the city’s magical past.

In addition, you can add “source:life” to any Google image search and search only the LIFE photo archive. For example, you might search something like astronaut source:life.
