A friend of mine in high school had an unusual hobby: origami. While most of us would spend our free time at home watching television or listening to music, he would sit down at his desk with tiny pieces of colorful paper and create masterpieces.

I always wanted to know how he did it: where to make the folds and where to make the creases. So imagine my surprise when years later I come across How To Make Oragami, this weeks featured free app.

The app’s title is pretty self explanatory – it provides explanations, images and animations on how to make popular origami figures, including a crane, rabbit and giraffe! This application could provide endless hours of folding fun for students in class, and at home.

Here are a few screenshots that demonstrate how the app functions:

Happy folding, y’all!
