Last night I moderated the Twitter hashtag chat #1to1techat for the very first time. It felt a lot like a first date – I was nervous, I had prepared and thought about what I was going to talk about, and I was 2o minutes early waiting for everyone else to arrive. But, as with any GOOD date, as soon as it started time flew, and it was over before I knew it!

For those of you who are unfamiliar of #1to1techat, it happens every Wednesday at 8pm CST and is a fun, fast-paced discussion about issues related to 1:1 classroom environments. Each week there is a new topic and new moderator to facilitate the discussion, which always leads to intelligent conversations above and beyond my expectations. This week, I facilitated a conversation about classroom management in 1:1 environments and was thrilled to see the discussion build. Topics discussed included best practices, what off-task looks like in a 1:1 classroom, and the implications of taking devices away from off-task students.

Hope to see you all at next week’s chat!

  1. I was following that chat, just after following my first Twitter chat. The first one did not move very quickly. But yours flew, with all the comments. I had a hard time keeping up!
