I wanted to share an awesome project called Marginal Revolution University started by Tyler Cowen and Alex Tabarrok at George Mason University. Essentially, MRUniversity offers MOOCs, or massive open online courses, to the general public about a range of different economics topics.

Currently there are six courses offered, including Great Economists, Economics of the Media, and The American Housing Finance System. Each course includes a host of videos created by reputable instructors as well as the availability of professors during certain hours for live chat sessions. Some courses include final exams that when passed, offer students certificates of completion.

Although this is a fantastic way to brush up on some of your economics skills, the best part of MRUniversity is in my opinion the ability to utilize the videos in your own classroom. The videos are all freely available for non-commercial use, and are a fantastic way to flip your classroom or provide additional resources during class for students. Check out an example video below to get an idea for what these look like:

Happy economics instructing, y’all!
