This week, I want to share with you one of my favorite apps, Textropolis. This game has gotten me addicted and I spend a lot of my down time between meetings and when I’m waiting in line busy on this app!

Essentially, students are presented with 30 different cities, one by one. For each city, students attempt to find words out of the spelling of the city, and with each word they discover they build their Textropolis population. Plus, each word they discover is defined on-screen, so students can build their awareness and knowledge of new words as they type in letter combinations. Plus, just for fun, students can send their friends “postcards” from the cities they unlock.
