A geography lesson, a technology exploration, a cultural experience and a problem-solving puzzle all in one! Meet Mystery Skype.

As you can see in the video, Mystery Skype in essence connects your classroom digitally with another anywhere in the world. Then, students must work collaboratively within the classroom and with the other community to solve a geographical puzzle: where is the other classroom?

In preparation for such an event, many educators assign students roles, such as cartographer, scribe, camera-controller, etc. In addition, the class works as a group to come up with the twenty yes-or-no questions they will be posing to the other classroom in an effort to decipher their location.

The end result? Students who are excited about the world around them. Take your students on a journey across the globe this week, and check out some of the resources below for implementation tips!
