Today I discovered Vibby, a neat little web application that allows you to edit, comment, and interact with YouTube videos in a pinch! The process is relatively simple…

First, select the video you want to use:

Then, highlight sections of the video you find most interesting, confusing, or conversation-worthy. Select these to make them the focus of the video and make the rest of the video fade into the background for the audience.Screen Shot 2015-08-19 at 9.48.15 AM

Then, title and save your vibe to share with students, colleagues, or friends!

Imagine saving time by showing your scholars exactly what part of the clip you found useful, rather than having to give them tedious or confusing directions or have them wade through valuable minutes of irrelevant footage. Plus, scholars can engage in a conversation directly on the video itself, by commenting, asking questions, and sharing thoughts and ideas!
