BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – A newcomer will be joining the East Baton Rouge Parish School Board.

Katie Kennison has defeated Connie Bernard for the District 8 seat on the school board.
It was a number of runoff elections for the EBR School Board, including races for the District 4, 7, and 9 seats.
After the results of the November 8th election, Bernard had a change of heart about giving up her School Board seat and decided to stay in the race, after first announcing she would not seek re-election.
