\n\t\tLawmakers weigh in on need, concerns for special session\t<\/a>
\n<\/aside>\n<\/div>\n\u201cWith the new code they\u2019re required to do that but there are some jurisdictions that don\u2019t get a permit for a roof like much of Florida does and don\u2019t inspect it,\u201d said Randy Noel, former president of the Louisiana and National Association of Home Builders. \u201cWe\u2019re trying to encourage the local jurisdictions to go ahead and do that. That captures the data for the insurance companies to know that we\u2019ve done it.\u201d<\/p>\n
The association is in favor of the Insure Louisiana Incentive Fund being pushed by the commissioner. Their industry is heavily impacted by the insurance crisis as it heavily affects those with older homes.<\/p>\n
\u201cBut if those folks can\u2019t sell their house because they can\u2019t find affordable insurance for their buyer, we can\u2019t sell our new house,\u201d Noel said.<\/p>\n
