Jamie Oliver<\/a> has opened up about his wife Jools<\/a>\u2019 \u201cdeeply scary\u201d two-year long Covid<\/a> battle.<\/p>\n

The TV chef hailed the mum-of-five as\u00a0\u201can absolute superstar\u201d, revealing the 47-year-old has been \u201creally affected\u201d by the virus.<\/p>\n

He told the Daily Mail Weekend magazine<\/a>: \u201cShe\u2019s had bad Covid and long Covid so she\u2019s been really affected by it, sadly.<\/p>\n

\u201cShe\u2019s okay but still not what she wants to be. It\u2019s been two years, she finds it deeply scary.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Jamie explained they had seen specialist medical professionals but have been unable to solve her symptoms as the condition is still being learnt about.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re all over Harley Street like a rash but no one really knows anything. The data on long Covid is still piling in. She\u2019s been an absolute superstar,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

There are 1.8million Britons estimated to have long Covid, according to the latest figures from the Office for National Statistics.<\/span><\/p>\n

This month, experts from King\u2019s College London said there appears to be three \u201csubtypes\u201d of the condition, each with their own set of symptoms including, fatigue, brain fog, shortness of breath, muscle ache and heart palpitations.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Jamie and Jools have been married for 22 years and have five children together.<\/p>\n

Speaking about his relationship, the TV chef said: \u201cMe and Jools have been together since we were 18.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe went to London with nothing but dreams and aspirations. Luckily, we were able to solidify our relationship before it all kicked off. Then we did it together. It was exciting.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen I first started going out with Jools, she was like, \u2018I\u2019ll never be able to have kids.\u2019 She had polycystic ovaries. But here we are with five.\u201d<\/p>\n

The couple are parents to Poppy, Daisy, Petal, Buddy and River.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Oliver added: \u201cI haven\u2019t done teenage boys yet but I found teenage girls very hard. I tried to be an on-point dad, I\u2019d give myself nine out of 10 for effort.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe the minute they get to 13, you\u2019re dumped. You\u2019re outside looking in. All you want is a few hugs a day and to be appreciated but there\u2019s a lot of chemistry going on.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou never get the kid back after 13, they completely change. Just when you start to get them back, they\u2019re off to university. So it\u2019s like a bereavement.\u201d<\/p>\n

In 2020, Jools revealed she had had a miscarriage during lockdown and the couple have spoken openly in the past about losing \u201cfive little stars in the sky\u201d.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
